In September 2016, 7,375 new manufactured homes were shipped, an increase of 16.4 percent from September 2015, and an increase of 66 homes or 0.9 percent compared to August 2016. Compared with the same month last year, there were increases in home shipments across the board, with shipments of single section and multi-section homes up by 29.5 percent and 6.5 percent respectively. Total floors shipped in September 2016 were 11,289, an increase of 12.6 percent compared with September 2015.
Compared with the prior year, 2016 has recorded shipment increases for all nine months of the year. Shipments from January through September this year totaled 59,911 homes compared with 52,041 homes in 2015, a net increase of 15.1 percent.
The seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of shipments was 83,324 in September 2016, up 5.4 percent from the adjusted rate of 79,037 in August 2016. The SAAR corrects for normal seasonal variations and projects annual shipments based on the current monthly total.
The number of plants reporting production in September 2016 was 126 and the number of active corporations was 34, both unchanged from the previous month.

Currently it is unclear how many mobile home parks in Colorado Springs have added new mobile homes. However, the demand for new mobile homes at the factory level are running very strong. This trend is also very consistent with new RV shipments and the tight availability for space in RV Parks in Colorado Springs.
